here we go...

One's intention in creating a blog can be a funny thing. For some it can become a soap box of sorts to vent and demand action from the powers that be. For others, blogging is a means for staying connected with friends and family. And then there is a niche of bloggers that use it more as an online journal to record observations and thoughts as they travel this road we call life. My intention in creating this blog lies somewhere between the second and third type (and I apologize in advance for any inadvertent venting that may creep in).

As I embark on this journey of beginning as the new pastor at San Benito FUMC, I simultaneously straddle the fence with one foot remaining at Harlingen FUMC. While I am no longer overtly visible to the congregation in Harlingen, my prayer is that I may continue conversation and interactions through blogging. Likewise, a large chunk of the San Benito congregation heads north for the summer, and I pray that through this blog we can begin to establish a relationship.

The content of this blog will be primarily my own thoughts and reflections on life, ministry, and discipleship. While I may pull from situations and conversations I have within the churches, the names will be changed to protect the innocent. :-)
